The RISE scouts enjoyed an active day of learning new skills last Saturday at Mathiura Tea Estate. The weather was perfect amidst the picturesque tea garden, each activity planned and coordinated well by the Scout Leader Mr Ifty Siddiki. The team learnt how to demonstrate the skills they have learnt in regular meetings, from map reading and compass work to the benefits of hiking, teamwork and leadership. All of this was done with the leader either walking with them or shadowing from a distance. This was a great way for the RISE students to learn lifelong skills and actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contributions to society. We hope to see further activities from the RISE scouts soon.
